Ieri sera sono andati in scena da Budapest l’edizione 2021 degli Mtv European Music Awards, show trasmesso in diretta in 180 paesi, ispirato alle terme di Budapest e al Danubio.

Nel corso della serata degli MTV EMA 2021 sono stati premiati gli artisti vincitori di ogni categoria, i più votati dal pubblico nelle scorse settimane.
A presentare la serata è stata Saweetie, vincitrice anche nella categoria “Best New”, che si è esibita in alcuni dei suoi successi. Ad aprire la serata è stato Ed Sheeran che ha eseguito il suo ultimo singolo “Overpass Graffiti”, prima di interpretare la hit “Shivers”. Sul palco si è esibito anche Maluma, vincitrice del “Best Latin”, e gli Imagine Dragons, tornati con il nuovo singolo “Enemy”, insieme al rapper JID e una squadra di ballerini. Non sono mancati gli appelli per l’inclusione e l’eguaglianza a prescindere dagli orientamenti sessuali.
Grande successo per gli italiani Maneskin, i primi italiani nella storia a portare a casa Best Rock. La band si è anche esibita durante la serata con una versione live di “MammaMia”. Il “Best Italian Act” è andato invece ad Aka7even che ha battuto Caparezza, Madame, Rkomi e gli stessi Maneskin
Ad Ed Sheeran sono andati i premi principali dell’evento. L’artista britannico ha vinto nelle categorie “Best Artist” e “Best Song” per la sua “Bad Habits”. La band sudcoreana BTS ha ottenuto invece il maggior numero di premi con quattro riconoscimenti tra cui “Best Pop”, “Best K-Pop”, “Best Group” e “Biggest Tifosi”.
